Audio Secrecy, the long-awaited follow-up to Stone Sour’s 2006 album Come What(ever) May is in stores now.

Audio Secrecy is the summation of everything we want, everything we crave and everything we fight for,” says frontman Corey Taylor. “The dimensions go further than anything we’ve ever tried before. It’s metal, rock, slow, soft, hard, fast, bitter, beautiful and most importantly, it’s real. You can’t get an album like this out of a band that doesn’t exist. We’re throwing caution out the damn window.”

This third studio effort was recorded with producer Nick Raskulinecz at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, Tenn. Anyone who purchases it here will be given a free trial membership to Dead Generation, the Stone Sour fan club.

The Black Angels played their new album, Phosphene Dream, at a private show last night at the Angel Orensanz Foundation in Manhattan, N.Y., and Spin has the review here.

Many a female has swooned over a shirtless Phil Collen and his infamous six-pack, but the Def Leppard guitarist cuts a sleek image clothed too, as showcased in the fall 2010 issue of Guitar Aficionado.  In their fashion feature, Collen models the newest suits by timeless designers Dolce & Gabbana, Zegna, Ralph Lauren, and others, paired with some of the strikingly designed axes he uses onstage.

As seen in the image above, one of the guitars Collen took along for the shoot was his Fender refurbished 1977 Fender Telecaster.

Collen, who is currently working on an album with Man Raze, told GA that Def Leppard will reconvene to record a new album in 2011, followed by extensive touring.

For more photos and details about his weapons of choice, order Guitar Aficionado here and be sure to also follow GA on facebook.

McKagan Leaves Jane’s Addiction

Fender signature bassist Duff McKagan has left Jane’s Addiction and is busy finishing up the third album with his band Loaded.

Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins announced the news in a statement via email:

“We love the songs we worked on with him — and the gigs were a blast — but musically we were headed in a different direction. From here, Duff is off to work on his own stuff so we wish him all the best.”

Farrell also tweeted his own personal well wishes to McKagan, writing, “Jane’s wishes Duff much luck with his band Loaded. What a fun time we all had working together. Look out for his record and tour this fall.”

In fact, McKagan recently dished on the upcoming Loaded album in his blog for Seattle Weekly.

“Famed producer Terry Date (Soundgarden, Pantera, Deftones, Prong, Screaming Trees, just to name a very few) came in to the Loaded fold somehow just before we were to start this record and offered his assistance in a producer role,” writes McKagan. “Yeah, when Terry Date wants to do your record, you run and not walk straight to that man.”

McKagan also talks about the difficult decision to split from Martin Feveyear, who produced the first two Loaded albums.

“Martin is not only our producer, but one of my dearest friends, and I can probably speak for the other fellas in the band when I state that this was a very tough decision for us,” writes McKagan. “Martin totally understood and told us to make a great record. I love you, pal.”
