Resonant Mind Rehearsals

Resonant Mind Productions is a music recording and production company
that thrives on creativity and originality while remaining able to know how
to connect to a variety of markets or genres whether large or small. We know that
if you can be creative and unique while being able to connect, inspire and be compatible
with people, not only will you be successful with your music but it will be infinitely
sustainable success.

As a band or artist, it’s important for you to understand that Resonant Mind
will provide you with more than just a rehearsal or recording studio. We’ve
designed a premium 500 square foot live room for bands to be creative in whether
they are rehearsing, writing, or recording. And a beautifully designed rehearsal
room is not all we offer – we work hard for the bands that invest their time and
resources with us beyond what most would expect.

Here are some of the many ways we assist and work for bands and artists who rehearse or work with us:

Included Promotion & Publicity

We like to introduce bands to the importance and power of promotion. Though
some of these promotional tactics could require a small purchase of materials
or services, we do not collect a fee or royalty as a promoter – it is included
for our clients. Once the bands and artists get a feel for it and want to take
promotion to the next level we can introduce them to the many trusted contacts
and promotion companies that we’ve developed close affiliation with. Here are a
few examples of how we achieve inexpensive and free promotion:

  • Our monthly newsletters:
    • Every month we post an update on our facebook, myspace,
      email newsletter, and website. In it we talk about the
      progress and happenings of our company but we also talk
      about the bands and artists that are rehearsing or working with us.
      We list upcoming shows, CD/EP/Demo releases, tours, and more.
    • In every monthly newsletter we put in $2.00 of our own money to
      give away a free legal song via iTunes to a fan or newsletter follower.
      The way it works is at the end of each newsletter there is a message along the
      lines of “Any reader who is first or 50th to email info at(@) resonantmindproductions.com
      with the band name “Band Name” in the title/subject will receive a free song of
      their choice emailed to them via iTunes”. To promote even further,
      we can send the song along with a message talking about that particular band,
      upcoming shows, etc, etc.

      We encourage that each band member of each band donates an
      additional $1.00 per month so we can giveaway more than 1 song.
      This way, Resonant Mind and all of its clients are supporting each other –
      like a community. This is essentially a “viral marketing” strategy and the
      amount of followers and readers we gain grows exponentially.

    • We have a fun little segment of our newsletter dedicated to
      “band quotes”. At the end of each month, each band submits an agreed
      upon quotation of something funny, spontaneous, or cool that a band
      member said during a rehearsal or session.

      This serves two main purposes:

      • It gives our readers something to laugh at or
        find interesting and it gives them another reason
        to follow our updates. So far we’ve had a good reader response.
      • It guarantees that your band name and link will
        be in every monthly newsletter.
  • Internet Advertisements:
    • Bands who are rehearsing on a monthly basis get an included internet
      banner advertisement on our website which is viewed by hundreds on a
      weekly if not daily basis.
    • Flash based advertisements in our Youtube videos.
  • Comprehensive client database:
    • We have developed a one of a kind client database that not only
      displays who we’ve worked with, but it gives a quick synopsis of all
      our clients. It displays a thumbnail picture of the band/artist/project,
      description, what projects they’ve done with us, their review of our company,
      and links to their website, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, iTunes, Amazon,
      and CD Baby. All of clients receive a spot in this database whether they’ve
      been working with us for years or only one day.
      Example:

Publishing

Film, T.V., Games and other Media is a great way to have your music heard by many, many people and can
be financially rewarding. Resonant Mind Productions has many contacts in all the above industries and
we are in direct co-operation with producers, directors, music directors, etc, who want to hear the
artists that work with us. Our contacts range from small local indie directors to international
blockbuster producers. Resonant Mind is always ears open for music that could fit in a movie or
series and we have a range of publishing contracts and deals to fit your specific needs.

Free Rehearsal Recording

Lots of improvising and good creative “mistakes” can happen during a rehearsal whether bands
and artists are playing their set, writing new songs, or just messing around. We know the
feeling of coming up with a great idea or riff and you tell yourself you won’t forget it
but ten minutes later, low and behold for whatever reason, you cannot for the life of you
remember what you had played. Resonant Mind Productions offers to record your rehearsals
upon request for FREE. We setup an omni-directional microphone to pickup the whole band,
press record, and when your jam is done, we export an MP3 and email it to you.

Band/Artist Development & Music Lessons

We are always available to give our opinions and expertise on bands and artist’s music or
performance if requested. We are always keeping our ears open and if a band or artist is
seeking extended development support we are available as a band/artist coach. Resonant Mind Productions
knows what makes skilled musicians and a good sounding band and we know what steps have to be taken to
make those achievements. Also provided at our facilities are private music lessons for artists or band
members that request it.

Hourly rates are standard for coaching and private lessons but we also provide band/artist development
contracts for those that show climbing potential and determination.

Pre-Production & Production

Once a potential project begins to unfold and you need someone to help organize and develop your
ideas we are instantly at your disposal. We can go over your songs, help you arrange additional
instrumentation, point out where improvements could be made, record some rough tracks or just talk
about how you envision your project and where you want it to go.

Writing and recording music is a very creative and amazing process but it can also be a long, stressful,
and an intimidating process. Simply put, Pre-Production is preparing for the recording and production of
a project whether it is a demo, single, EP, or album – a sort of rehearsal that addresses what is to be
expected and required during the recording and production stages. The more Pre-Production the more prepared
a band or artist will be which will result in having less stress during the recording and production. More
pre-production will also result in things taking a lot less time and will cut the cost of your project down –
less takes, less editing, and so on. Pre-Production will save you money.

Once moving into the recording and production stage we will explore the endless possibilities of
recording your project, adding elements, creating sounds, and most of all capturing your performance,
creativity, and ideas in their best light and as truthfully as possible.

Demo Recording

If there is un-booked studio time, we are always available to record and produce demos whether
we only have an hours notice or months in advance notice. An option available to bands and artists
who are rehearsing with us is that they can replace a scheduled rehearsal with a demo recording session
instead. It’s important for bands and artists to have a studio that can quickly record a demo because
there are always opportunities that arise or are found at the last minute.

Album, E.P., and Single Recording

There is a major advantage to being a Resonant Mind rehearsing band/artist who is going to record
album quality (Album, EP, Single) music at our studio because we are already somewhat familiar with
your songs and if a band or artist has told us in advance that they’d like to record with us, chances
are we’ve already started to take down ideas and imagine how we would creatively record your project.

Networking & Connections

Networking and making connections is an integral part of being in the music industry. Whether you are a
musician, producer, audio engineer, manger or agent or any other position, it is essential for your
success that you meet other music industry professionals. When you are a client of Resonant Mind
Productions, you get access to our trusted contacts that we’ve gained over the years – producers and
engineers we’ve worked with; session musicians, bands, artists and songwriters we’ve collaborated with,
produced, or recorded; mangers, tour managers, roadies, instrument techs; promoters, agents, merchandisers,
website designers, etc, etc.

If you are looking for a professional of a specific field then we will do our best to find you someone
of interest within our trusted contacts. You will also get to meet many of our contacts on your own
through a variety of ways such as BBQs once every three months, live events, our annual open house party,
focus groups and more.

In-House Events

We possess a 1700+ square foot building with a 550 square foot live room in which we can host a
number of different events such as bands playing acoustic versions of their songs, DJs, CD listening parties,
private shows, and more.

Session Work

Resonant Mind is always looking for session musicians to collaborate with on other projects whether it’s
for another bands or artists album, film score compositions, or commissioned songwriting and so on.
Resonant Mind keeps a listen for those who show session quality performance and provide them about the
opportunity of doing session work.

Hourly Rehearsal Spaces vs. Lock-Out Rehearsal Spaces

We are asked a fair amount by bands about the difference between hourly rehearsal spaces
and lock-out rehearsal spaces and which is better. As musicians and producers, we’ve
worked at many rehearsal spaces, both hourly and lock-out and we’ve come to the
conclusion that while lock-out rehearsals work great for some bands,
it doesn’t for most.

  • Hourly Rehearsal Spaces:

    • Pros:
      • Equipment is always maintained and repaired quickly,
        and if not quickly enough, replaced with new working equipment.
      • There is always a staff member on hand, ready to assist you.
      • You can book hourly and or schedule a certain amount of time per month.
      • Better customer service.
      • Hourly rehearsal spaces have better sized rooms,
        better sound isolation and control.
      • You only pay for the time you are using.
    • Cons:
      • Your rehearsal sessions are scheduled at a specific time and date –
        don’t be late! We require 48 hours notice to reschedule or cancel.
      • In most cases, you can’t leave your equipment set up.
  • Lock-Out Rehearsal Spaces:

    • Pros:
      • Bands have a room to themselves and can rehearse whenever they want
        (some lockouts still have time restrictions for instance no jamming
        between 10am and 3pm).
      • Inexpensive for the amount of time you get.
    • Cons:
      • Broken gear goes unseen and can take a while to repair or replace.
      • Lock-Out facilities with more than one lock-out room can be prone to theft.
      • You’re paying for a lot of time you may not end up using.
      • You can’t cancel once into a month.
      • While you get a lot of time for a low price, you are paying a lot for most
        likely a small cramped room with little to no sound treatment.
      • To jam in a 400 square foot lockout room you’d have to pay around
        $1400 per month for a bare to the bone room.

steel tongue drum (east Vancouver) $225

March 9th, 2010

I have a steel tongue drum for sale. To see how these drums are played go to Google and under subject type in Hapi drums. This site allows you to see how the drum plays and can actually play the notes. The drum for sale is NOT a Hapi drum but a very good copy that sounds just as good.Also the price is almost half the price of other steel tongue drums on the market.It comes with drum sticks. I took this drum to a party and almost everyone tried it. Anyone can play it even if they are not musically inclined.

Epiphone Les Paul Classic – Gold Upgrades – Reduced (Vancouver) $425

March 9th, 2010

I started out with the prettiest little Les Paul that I could find – solid mahogany body with a highly flamed maple top in cherry sunburst. There is white binding around the body and up the neck. The guitar is totally flawless from tip to bottom – it still has that new-looking shine. Its just the guitar you would expect – bright Alnico opencoil <a href="http://allguitars.ca/rogers-pickups.shtml”>pickups, set neck is straight and well set-up, all electronics in top shape – no issues at all.

But it cried out for gold – so I changed all the hardware to GFS gold parts. I was happy with the pick-ups so I left them alone. Everything else on the guitar has been changed to gold.
I changed: the pick up frames, tail piece, bridge, pick guard bracket and screws, put on gold Grover tuner heads, and locking stap buttons – the guitar just glistens now. Includes fitted HSC.

Its a beautiful guitar to look at and a joy to play. Over $200 in upgrades have gone into the mod. Price is very fair.

~~~Old Cellos, Estate Sale~~~ (Vancouver)
March 9th, 2010
I have 6 cellos to be sold as a lot as part of an estate. Two are quite old, probably German. One is newer, probably about 20 years old. There are also three student size cellos, one 3/4 size and two 1/2 size cellos. The 3/4 size cello is older, the two 1/2 size ones are newer.
I believe they are all carved, not plywood. A couple will require a bridge & tail piece (not expensive).
There are also two good quality American made hard shell cases and a well padded soft case that go with them.
These instruments will only be sold as a lot, not individually.
Priced to sell quickly at $5000, by cash or certified check written to the trustee.
